Professional Teeth Whitening

Over-the-counter whitening products work, up to a point. Professional whitening uses higher-concentration materials, applied with professional technique, for more noticeable and consistent results.

Your Options

We offer two professional whitening approaches, and the right one depends on how quickly you want results and how you prefer to manage the process.

In-office whitening is done in a single appointment. A higher-concentration whitening agent is applied to the teeth and activated here, producing noticeable results in one visit. It is a good choice when timing matters or when you want the most controlled application.

Take-home trays use custom trays made from impressions of your teeth, filled with professional-grade whitening gel that you apply at home over a period of several days to weeks. The trays fit precisely, which ensures even contact between the gel and tooth surface. The process is more gradual but produces thorough results, and the trays can be reused for touch-ups later.

Who It Works For

Professional whitening works best on natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, bonding, and other restorations do not respond to whitening agents, and their color will not change. If you have visible restorations in the front teeth and whiten significantly, there may be a shade mismatch that was not there before.

If existing restorations are a factor, it is worth discussing at the consultation before you begin. In some cases, replacing older restorations to match a new, lighter shade is part of the plan. We will give you an honest picture of what to expect before you start.
