Curodont

A drill-free, needle-free treatment for early cavities. Curodont uses your body's own minerals to restore tooth enamel before a filling becomes necessary.

  1. Step 1

    An early cavity is found

At your exam we spot a weak area in the enamel before decay goes deep.

  2. Step 2

    Curodont is applied

A gentle liquid is placed on the surface. No drill, no shot.

  3. Step 3

    Minerals fill the weak spot

Over the following weeks your saliva deposits minerals back into the damaged area.

Dr. Bounds on Curodont

In about 30 seconds, Dr. John Bounds explains what Curodont is, how it works on the earliest stage of a cavity, and why it can mean fewer fillings.

How Curodont Works

Curodont is applied directly to the tooth in our office. The formulation disperses into the depth of an early cavity, where it triggers your saliva to deposit minerals back into the damaged enamel. This mimics the natural remineralization process your body already uses, just directed where it is needed most.

The entire application takes as little as three minutes. There is no drilling, no injection, and nothing artificial left behind in the tooth.

Benefits of Curodont

For patients who qualify, Curodont offers several advantages over traditional fillings:

  • No drilling or injection needed
  • Tasteless and non-staining
  • No artificial filling materials left in the tooth
  • One-time application, often in as little as three minutes
  • Works for both permanent and primary (baby) teeth
  • Suitable for patients of all ages

Because there is no numbing involved and the procedure is brief, it is especially well-suited for children or patients who feel anxious about dental work.

When Curodont Is an Option

Curodont works on early cavities, the kind we catch before decay has progressed deep into the tooth. When a cavity is detected at this stage, Curodont gives us a way to treat it without removing tooth structure.

Not every cavity qualifies. If decay has already spread significantly, a traditional filling or other restoration may still be the right approach. We evaluate each situation at your exam and will let you know if Curodont is a fit.

A Gentler Path for Families

For children especially, avoiding the drill can make a real difference. There is no numbing shot, no sound of drilling, and the appointment is brief. Many kids who feel nervous about dental work find Curodont much easier to accept.

The same applies to adults who prefer a less invasive option when one is available. If we catch a cavity early enough, Curodont lets us treat it while preserving more of the natural tooth.
