The Practice Story

Dr. Frank Musso opened this practice in 1971 on W. Centerville Road in Garland. His sons Mike and Mark grew up watching him work, watching him talk with patients, watching what it looked like when someone genuinely cared for the people they served. Both went on to study zoology at Texas Tech, then earned their dental degrees from UT Dental Branch Houston. They joined their father, and the practice continued.

That is the story. Not a mission statement, not a marketing premise. A father opened a practice. His sons became dentists. The patients who came in 1971 kept coming. Their children came. Their children's children came. That continuity is what Musso Family Dentistry is.

The team reflects the same pattern. Lori Long, one of our hygienists, has been with the practice for 19 years. More than half of new patients arrive because someone in the waiting room sent them. These are not metrics we engineered. They are what happens when a practice earns its place in a community and stays there.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Mike A. Musso, DDS

Co-Owner, General Dentist

Dr. Mike studied zoology at Texas Tech and earned his DDS from UT Dental Branch Houston in 1990. He joined his father and has been here since. Over the decades he has added training at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI), completed the Gary Kadi NextLevel Practice program, and earned clear aligner certification.

Outside the office, Dr. Mike has three children. He enjoys fishing and time at the lake house. His kids play in a Beatles cover band.

Dr. Mark C. Musso, DDS

Co-Owner, General Dentist

Dr. Mark also studied zoology at Texas Tech and earned his DDS from UT Dental Branch Houston in 1994. In the years since, his clinical focus has concentrated on airway health and sleep-disordered breathing. He sees patients from age 2 to 92 for sleep concerns, and he teaches other dentists and medical professionals on the subject. He works alongside ENTs and pediatricians as part of a collaborative care approach.

Dr. Mark is married with two daughters and two sons. He enjoys working out, golfing, and coaching his sons in sports.

Dr. John Bounds, DDS

General Dentist

Dr. Bounds studied biology and chemistry at Virginia Tech and earned his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into OKU, the National Dental Honor Society. He completed a GPR residency at VA North Texas, where he trained in implant placement and restoration, full mouth rehabilitation, surgical extractions, bone grafting, periodontal surgery, prosthodontics, and endodontics. He is also Level 1 Sedation Certified.

Dr. Bounds lives in Dallas with his wife Betsy. He volunteers through the Christian Dental Society on mission trips to Jamaica. He follows Virginia Tech football closely, and when he's not at the office, he's cooking, fly fishing, hiking, or playing golf.
