What We Offer
Orthodontic treatment at Musso Family Dentistry is available through clear aligners. This approach works for a wide range of alignment cases in adults and teens, without metal brackets or wires.
Airway and Orthodontics
Orthodontic evaluation at Musso may also include an airway assessment, especially for younger patients. How the jaws develop affects how a person breathes, sleeps, and functions long-term. This is not standard at most practices.
Dr. Mark Musso holds credentials in dental sleep medicine, including his Diplomate status with the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA). That training shapes how he evaluates the relationship between jaw development, bite, and airway function. For patients with crowded teeth or narrow arches, the question of what is happening with the airway is worth considering alongside the orthodontic picture.
The Vivos System, available at Musso, is one approach that addresses both arch development and airway in a coordinated way for qualifying patients. If that evaluation is relevant to your situation or your child's, it can be discussed at a consultation.
Orthodontics Within a Family Practice
At a standalone orthodontic office, the practitioner often does not know the patient's dental history. At Musso, the doctor recommending orthodontic treatment has likely been seeing the patient for years, and has a complete picture of their dental health.
That context matters. Orthodontic movement that happens in the presence of active gum disease or unaddressed decay can cause lasting damage. When orthodontics is coordinated within a full-service family practice, those issues are identified and addressed before treatment begins, not discovered after.
