Full Mouth Reconstruction

Full mouth reconstruction is the term for complex cases where multiple teeth, often most of the teeth, need significant restorative work. One team, one chart, one relationship manages the entire process.

What It Involves

Full mouth reconstruction brings together multiple types of restorative care into a coordinated plan: implants to replace missing teeth, crowns to protect and restore damaged ones, bridges, gum treatment, and bite correction where needed. Each piece of the treatment is planned in relation to the others, not addressed in isolation.

Because the work spans many appointments and several months, the continuity of care matters. When the same team that placed the implant also places the crown, and the same chart carries the full history, nothing falls through the gaps between providers.

Who It Is For

Full mouth reconstruction is appropriate for patients whose dental needs are extensive enough that a standard treatment plan does not cover the scope. Common situations include significant decay affecting most of the teeth, trauma that damaged multiple teeth at once, severe wear from long-term grinding or clenching, or dental care that was deferred for many years and has accumulated into a complex picture.

These cases are not uncommon, and they do not require explanation or apology. Our job is to understand where you are and build a path forward from there.

How It Works

We start with a comprehensive exam, including CBCT imaging when needed for full context. Three-dimensional imaging lets us evaluate bone volume, root structure, and the relationship between teeth in ways that two-dimensional X-rays cannot. That information shapes the treatment plan.

From there we build a phased treatment plan that addresses the most urgent issues first: infection, pain, structural instability. Longer-term restorative work follows in a sequence that makes clinical sense. Dr. Bounds coordinates the surgical and restorative components, and the Musso team handles the full case in-house.
