What All-On-X Is
All-On-X (sometimes called All-On-4) is a treatment approach where a full arch of replacement teeth is anchored to the jaw using four or more implants. Rather than replacing individual teeth one at a time, the entire arch is supported by a small number of precisely placed implants.
The result is a fixed, permanent set of teeth. They do not come in and out. They do not shift when you eat. They are cleaned and cared for much like natural teeth, without the adhesives or overnight soaking that come with traditional dentures.
This is a meaningful difference from conventional dentures, which rest on the gums and can become loose as the underlying bone changes over time. Implant-supported restorations work with the bone rather than resting on top of it.
The In-House Advantage
This treatment involves surgical implant placement, detailed bone assessment, and full arch fabrication. When these steps happen across different offices, communication gaps can complicate the process. Here, Dr. Bounds handles the surgical and restorative components in the same practice, coordinated with the same team and chart throughout. You do not get shuffled between offices.
Bone assessment is done using our CBCT (cone beam CT) imaging, which provides a three-dimensional view of the jaw. That level of detail informs implant positioning before any surgical step begins. Precision at the planning stage makes a difference in the outcome.
Who This Is For
All-On-X is appropriate for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth in an upper or lower arch, and for patients with remaining teeth that are failing and unlikely to be successfully restored. It is also considered by patients who currently wear full dentures and are looking for a permanent, fixed alternative.
Adequate bone density is required to support the implants. That is evaluated at the consultation appointment using imaging. The consultation is the right place to determine whether you are a candidate, review the treatment sequence, and get your questions answered.
